United StatesI really appreciated all the personal service I received over the phone at faucetlist.com. However, this Delta shower system is not up to the standards I was hoping for. SO many parts are plastic. ugh. I only picked Delta so I'd have a combo grab bar/slide bar for the hand-held shower. This faucet dripped upon installation. Delta sent a part which fixed the problem, but why include the wrong part in the first place? It also took 7 days because they make them on demand. I am not happy with the screw on the front of the large faceplate! My Hansgrohe is perfectly smooth. Maybe it's a tradeoff for not having to caulk around the faceplate. It looks beautiful now, but how is all this plastic going to hold up in the future? Delta is great over the phone so I may just be ordering replacement parts (under warranty) in years to come.
Hi, I'm sorry to hear you had some issue with your order. It sounds like Delta was able to fix the problem quickly for you which I am very happy. With regards to any plastic parts, Delta has told us that they make some items out of high-density plastic specifically so they will last longer. This is because in certain parts, like a hand shower spray, it is advantageous to use plastic. Not only does plastic not corrode the way metal does, but in the case of a hand shower sprayer, it is also a safety issue. If you drop a heavy metal hand shower sprayer, it could damage tile or hurt a person. Furthermore, there are thermal transfer issues to consider. Metal can get too hot when you run water through it. Plastic is more comfortable to hold in your hand. Basically I'm just trying to explain there is a reason behind the material choice. As you have already found, Delta is very easy to work with and is a large company that truly stands behind their products. Everything you purchased has a lifetime manufacturers warranty so if you ever have a problem, you are covered. I think you will find these items are really made to last and I hope they perform well for you on into the future. Thanks again!
