The long and short of it: This 17 Series Dual Temperature and Pressure Tub and Shower Faucet is a fully functioning unit which includes the Showerhead and Tub Spout. It features a Large Handle to control the Shower (on/off) along with a smaller Handle used to set the temperature. You can set the temperature however you prefer and then just leave that smaller handle in place. Every time you take a shower you will simply turn it on with the large handle and the water come out exactly at your preferred level of warmth! Of course you can always adjust the temperature level any time as desired. This fixture also includes the required Rough-in Valve which installs in the wall.
Buy this item if: You want more precise temperature control, especially for people whose family members might disagree on a pre-set level!
This fixture includes the Rough-in Valve. The Valve is the part that installs in the wall and connects to your home's hot and cold water supply. The Valve included with this item is the Delta Universal Multi-Choice R10000-UNBX Shower Valve without stops. Delta has manufactured all of their Trim kits (the part of the Shower you actually see) to all fit the same Universal Shower Valve. In the future, if you ever plan to change the style or finish of your Shower Faucet, you will not need to change out the Valve in the wall (as long as you stick with Delta as the manufacturer). This saves you from having to rip out tile or go through other hassles to change your Shower. You can just swap out the old with the new. This advantage allows you to stay up to date with the latest design and home decor trends!

I am very disappointed with this product for 2 reasons; 1) the finish on the tub faucet shows EVERY drop of water, AND IT DOESN'T COME OFF, nor does it polish up!!! I bought this for the squared off style; however, there is a handle ONLY for "on" and "off", with a COMPLETELY SEPARATE handle for "hot"/"cold".....what a ****** design. I completely regret this purchase, however, it's been installed, so I'm pretty much SOL.
Hi, thanks so much for your review. We appreciate the feedback. I did want to respond that many people actually want a separate handle for temperature and volume control. This is great if you have family members who disagree on how hot they want the water. The separate handles give you more flexibility than a single handle shower, which is useful to some people. I also wanted to point out that Delta's design does not require that you to move the temperature handle with every shower. If you find a temperature you like, you can set the temperature handle in place and simply leave it there. Then when you go to take a shower, all you do is rotate the volume handle. With regards to spotting, you may want to call Delta at CALL US: 1-800-345-DELTA (3358) to make sure your finish is not defective. Delta's warranty does cover the finish as well as the operation of your shower fixture. It may be however that you simply have hard water and might be better off with a finish other than stainless steel. Delta's universal valve will work with any of their trim kits. This means you could potentially switch to a chrome finish without changing the valve in the wall. This would be a relatively inexpensive fix. Here's a link to the chrome trim kit only: https://faucetlist.com/products/delta-ashlyn-in2ition-1-handle-tub-and-shower-faucet-trim-kit-in-chrome-valve-not-included-685391 Sorry I can't be of more assistance but I thought I'd throw out some of these ideas. Thanks!
