The long and short of it: This 17 Series Dual Temperature and Pressure Balanced Shower Control is basically a fully functioning Shower Faucet without the showerhead. It features dual control handles. The larger handle is used to turn the shower on and off and set the output volume of water. The smaller handle used to set the temperature. You can set the temperature however you prefer and then just leave the smaller handle in place. Every time you take a shower you will simply turn it on using the large volume control handle and the water will come out at exactly the same level of warmth! This fixture also includes the required Rough-in Valve which installs in the wall. The valve mixes the water from your hot and cold water lines in the wall and sends out a stream of warm water to whatever shower spray you choose. This item can work with just about any showerhead or even a handheld shower when plumbed correctly in the wall. It can also work as the control for a tub and shower combination, provided you have a tub spout with diverter.
PLEASE NOTE: You must install the included rough-in valve to use this fixture. This item is intended for use in new construction and full bathroom renovations where you plan to change the valve in the wall. It WILL NOT be suitable for most retrofit projects!
Buy this item if: You want a way to control a shower head, handheld shower, or even ceiling mount shower head. This item will work with a shower head made by any manufacturer. This fixture will also allow you to add a tub spout (as long as it has its own diverter) to create a tub/shower combo if desired.
This fixture includes the Required Rough-in Valve. You MUST use the included valve to install this shower fixture! The Valve is the part that installs in the wall and connects to your home's hot and cold water supply. The Valve included with this item is the Delta Universal Multi-Choice R10000-UNBX Shower Valve without stops. Delta has manufactured all of their Trim kits (the part of the Shower you actually see) to all fit the same Universal Shower Valve. In the future, if you ever plan to change the style or finish of your Shower Faucet, you will not need to change out the Valve in the wall (as long as you stick with Delta as the manufacturer). This saves you from having to rip out tile or go through other hassles to change your Shower. You can just swap out the old with the new. This advantage allows you to stay up to date with the latest design and home decor trends!
