The long and short of it: This Shower Diverter and Two Body Spray Kit makes creating a Delta Shower System a little easier. You can pair this item with a normal Shower Faucet and Valve and use this fixtures Diverter function to switch between a normal Showerhead and the Body Sprays that are built in to this kit. You could also even add an additional Handheld Shower. It allows you to have the body sprays, plus two additional Shower system sprays. Examples of Shower system sprays are Showerheads, Handheld Showers, Ceiling Mount Shower Heads, etc. This Diverter features 6 settings which can be used for 3 individual positions plus 3 shared positions. You would be able to control each shower system spray individually. You would also be able to run any two Shower system sprays simultaneously. You MUST also have a normal Shower Faucet as this fixture is only for Diverting water, not for mixing water. This means once the water is mixed in the normal Shower Valve, it is sent into the diverter and distributed to the peripheral shower systems. This fixture includes the Rough-in Valve. The Valve is the part that installs in the wall and connects to the trim (the part you see). The Diverter Valve is designed for taking the mixed water from a normal Shower Faucet Valve and diverting it other places. The Valve included with this item is the Delta R1827-XO for the Diverter with Body Sprays Shower plate. This valve includes one port used for the incoming water, plus two ports available for other peripheral Shower systems (in addition to the body sprays). This Valve makes creating a Custom Shower System easy.
